For Sale - Historic Elden Mk8 FF Race Car.

As predicted in a previous news item I have decided that the Elden Mk8 needs to move on to pastures new.  Since the car arrived from Canada - where it had been lovingly looked after for more years than he cares to remember by Dave Gold - we have undertaken a nut and bolt restoration/rebuild.  Not that the car actually needed restoring as such but it did arrive dismantled and therefore the opportunity to go through it item by item was too good to miss. Then of course there was the matter of the engine.  This was sorted by installing a freshly built lump from Neil Bold complete with new crank.

The car retains it original colours from Dave because the history of the machine is quite significant.  As readers may remember this car was one of the original quasi-works Catnic cars built by Mike Catlow for the 1972 season.  Drivers included Danny Sullivan, Tim Brise and Chris Smith.

Since we finished the car it has been raced three times by Simon Diffey.  I have to admit that he was disappointed by the performances but after the Donington test and the rebuilding of the Weber by Neil Bold we think it is finally sorted and ready to go.

This car literally needs nothing to go racing and is of course eligible for the HSCC Historic FF series.  I am sure the car will be competitive in the right hands so please let me know if you are interested.
